Awards

Blue Lagoon is very proud of the awards and recognition it received in 2021.

Environmental Award of the Year

In 2021, Blue Lagoon won the Environmental Company of the Year award, which is awarded annually by the Confederation of Icelandic Employers. The President of Iceland, Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, announced the award, which was presented at a festive ceremony in Harpa.

The award is given to companies that are considered to have excelled in the field of environmental issues – companies which have, among other things, implemented environmental management systems, gained recognition for their operations and products, integrated sustainable utilization into their policies, reduced waste and gone beyond what laws and regulations stipulate to reduce the impact of their operations on the environment.

“Ambitious environmental strategy making and the participation of all employees is the key to our success, but environmental issues concern us all.  We also find that our visitors and customers really appreciate these priorities. It is therefore a great honor for us to receive this award today and it is a great incentive to keep up the good work in the field of environmental issues and the utilization of natural resources guided by the principle of sustainable development,” said Ása Brynjólfsdóttir, Director of Research and Development at Blue Lagoon when she collected the award last autumn.
